I have to admit that I love all the new books about feminism that have been written specifically for children. Early empowerment is a beautiful thing!
One of my favorites is Baby Feminist, a lift-the-flap book, which depicts a diverse group of women who have each made important contributions our society. Each page tells a bit about women such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Mae Jemison, and Frida Kahlo. When the flap is lifted, you see a picture of what the artist imagined these women might have looked like as babies. It’s fun to read, especially with young toddlers who I’ve found like to say “baby” as each flap is lifted.
Other great Feminist books for children:
Feminist Baby by Loryn Brantz (preschoolers love this to, as there is a picture of a baby without a diaper. The height of hilarity for the 4-year-old set.)
My Feminist ABC by duopress labs
This Little Trailblazer by Joan Holub
Little Feminist Board Book Set by Galison and Emily Kleinman
I Can Do It Too! By Karen Baicker
A is for Activist by Innosanta Nagara
