Who am I?
Happy in Minnesota, loving my family and job in the infant room at the University of St Thomas Child Development Center!
What aspect of the Educaring® Approach resonates with you the most and why?
This is a tough question. I really love every aspect of the Educaring® Approach. There is so much peace in using this approach when interacting with infants. I think the whole idea of trusting the child probably resonates the most with me. It’s a beautiful thing to allow the child to make choices or just be and trust that the child knows best what they need for their own development. It takes a lot of practice letting go of our need to direct their experience. When you let yourself trust the child, the child knows it. A mutual trust develops and the relationship deepens. It is a beautiful thing!
What are you most grateful for?
I am most grateful for my family. I have a loving husband that I can call my best friend and five children that I am very proud of. They are each kind, compassionate, creative and intelligent. The three oldest kids are in college now and the two youngest are in middle school. My advice to parents is to slow down and enjoy the simple things. The years really do fly by!
