February's feature author/illustrator is Amy Schwartz. She's one of my favorite children's authors, as her simple stories highlight the things which are important to children, be it how they spend a day in the city or how they spend time with a friend. She writes about children's day to day experiences in a lovely and respectful way.
In "I Can't Wait," three children are waiting for a separate, special event to happen. William waits for his Dad to arrive home from work while Thomas waits for the arrival of his new sibling. The story is written in three parts, with all of the children coming together at the end.
"100 Things I love to Do With You" celebrates the many ways to enjoy spending time with loved ones, from making mud pies to watching the sun rise.
