How did you find FORM?

As a new mom, I stumbled upon a Janet Lansbury article on Facebook which led me to reading tons more articles and Magda's book.  From there I contacted the rie.org site hoping I could find a local branch here - I was so thrilled to find FORM in my exact neighborhood!

What aspect of the Educaring® Approach resonates with you the most and why?

The "basic trust in children" aspect. I can tend to be a perfectionist, always thinking I should do more.  It was so easy to get stressed as a new parent with all the info and "shoulds" out there.  I was drawn to RIE because it was comforting to learn that my baby didn't need me to be perfect, my baby needed me to step back and trust him to be exactly as he was.

What are you most grateful for?

My sweet little boy and my super supportive husband.

What is one thing you do for yourself? Or what would you like to do for yourself?

I get up really early, before my family, so that I can have time alone every morning to drink my coffee and think, write, read, learn.  It makes a big difference in my day.

If your life was a book or song, what would the title be?

"How sweet it is to be loved by you" by James Taylor - I have been so lucky to have truly supportive friends and family

What was your favorite book as a child?

Bridge to Terabithia

What teacher inspired you the most? How?

My high school choir director.  She was passionate, funny and she treated us like we were capable of anything.

What 3 words best describe you?

learner, introvert, organized

What is the best question anyone has asked you?

What would you do if you weren't afraid of failure?
