Last Stop on Market Street

Written by Matt De La Pena

Illustrated by Christian Robinson

While riding the bus with his Nana, a young boy wonders why he doesn’t have some of the luxury items he sees others using.  His friend’s family owns a car and he has to ride the bus.  He notices some older boys getting on the bus with iPhones, listening to music, and he wishes he had one.  His Nana gently encourages him to think about some of the positive aspects of lacking material things.  Their final destination will inspire.

A lovely story about what it means to truly give.  Bright, simple illustrations in the style of Ezra Jack Keats add a joyful simplicity to the story.
